Re: Notification of Closing
It is with sincere regret that I must announce Mac Metals Inc. will be closing permanently on June 1, 2022. My immediate priority is to inform you about this decision in order for you to make important sourcing choices going forward. View contact information here.
The decision to close the mill has become unavoidable due to flooding problems. Most of you have firsthand experience with our temporary closings due to flooding, most recently in September of this year. The challenges which are unique to our property as well as the impact of Covid 19 have only exacerbated our situation. Finally, the wish of the Rothschild family to retire (from day to day operations) has driven the decision to cease operations.
Mac Metals is a fully integrated brass mill suppling custom extrusions in brass, bronze and nickel silver. Mac Metals is a unique “niche-driven” organization serving the elevator, architectural openings and builder’s hardware marketplace. We understand your requirements and our unique ability to support same, and will make every effort to help you find suitable sources and/or replacements for the items we currently supply to you.
All current acknowledged orders will be completed per Mac Metals Standard Terms and Conditions on, or before, March 25. Effective February 1, custom orders scheduled for delivery after March 25 will require wire transfer for payment prior to shipment. Effective immediately, stock orders will require wire transfer payment before acknowledgement.
Effective February 1, Mac Metals will no longer offer stocking programs for Architectural Bronze sills, extensions, thresholds, handrails and common stock (bar, angle, channel, etc.). Our stocking program for nickel silver sills and extensions will remain in place as long as our inventory lasts.
I am asking your cooperation in settling any outstanding accounts prior to our closing. If necessary we will supply final invoicing and ask you to expedite payments. Please review any claims or disputes prior to our closing date of June 1, 2022.
I will be contacting all of our customers by phone and email over the next few weeks to discuss this situation. Feel free to contact me directly with your questions, comments and concerns.
Thank you for your business and loyalty. It has been our sincere pleasure to serve you.
